Online Magazines

some of you may know that i don't like subscribing to a lot of magazines because i don't want the clutter in my home.  i've limited myself to 2: Real Simple (that my generous sis subscribes to me every year since forever ago) i love that it covers a whole spectrum of things inspirational articles, the non-obligatory book list, recipes, fashion, decorating and more.  my favorite part of the magazine is the new uses for old things section- in one particular magazine they shared 10 uses for a rubber band... it came in pretty handy!

the other magazine i receive is House Beautiful.  i subscribed to it last year when Amazon was running a special- 1 year for $10.  how could i turn that down?  if you're looking for a bargain, check in frequently with Amazon.com under their "magazines for $10 or less" section.  when you're there just beware of signing up for the auto-renewals.

to get my magazine fix i usually camp out at the library or the bookstore and browse through their selection.  if i find an image i like, i'll either snap a picture with my camera phone or if i'm at the library, i'll splurge the 10 cents and make a photocopy. 

another way i satisfy my magazine fix is looking at online magazines.  they are awesome, convenient, and i just love them. :o)

Incredible Images... Baby's Dreams

omgoodness! i stumbled across the most wonderful blog... adele was a copywriter and concept designer and now... a new mom.  she imagines her daughter's dreams and while her daughter mila is napping, adele creates and captures an image of it.

it's so very precious... you can't help but smile when browsing through the images. her blog is Mila's Daydreams and you can check out SOME of the images here.

something that i've come to love about blurfing is seeing alternate uses for a variety of items. 


i was checking out decor8's post on Snug Studio and now i've added vintage coffee filters to my "on the lookout for" list.  check out these images from decor8's blog and you'll want vintage coffee filters too (although you might have to wrestle me for them!).

The Best Reality "Show" Ever

Do you all know about the "So You Think You're Crafty" reality blog show?  I love it more than The Biggest Loser, So You Think You Can Dance, or American Idol.  I know, I know... it's horrible that I get sucked into those shows.  I can't help it.

Every week there is a new theme and the participants have to create something that represents that theme. They come up with the best stuff!!! It's like being in a room full of creative minds. Every week I can barely wait to find out the new theme and see the new creations.

So far, their theme's have been

• Green 
• Turkey

 The fun part is that us blog readers get to vote on our favorite project and WE decide on the winner.  Fun, right??  Once the winner is determined, the tutorial for the project is posted on the site.

Blog Love Feature-- Bake It Pretty

This is for all of you bakers out there.  I love this site Bake It Pretty.  It is full of fantabulous ideas, recipes, and yummy creations.  I’m loving this most recent post of cookies and a free tag templates. I would totally be more into trick-or-treating if I could give away something like this.  Perhaps you could use it for an upcoming Halloween party.  

I love this simple and clean look of baking in souffle cups.

Blurfing

No, I didn't just make some nasty sound. ;)  


Have you ever looked at a blog, clicked on an interesting link, then click on a link to a pretty image, then clicked on a link to a feature and then end up somewhere and have no idea how you got there?  That's blurfing (blog surfing).   So about a week ago I was blurfing and I stumbled across this site and immediately bookmarked it. 


Have you checked out The Inspired Bride?? OMGoodness!  This site is "inspiration for the hip and modern bride", but I think there are decorating ideas that can incorporated into an special event.  There are so many elegant classy ideas and sometimes a free download like this beautiful stationary (in different colors) WITH a pattern sheet so you can line your own envelope!  How coolio is that??

Blog Love Feature-- Sticks and Bricks

Swwwiiiippppppe.... (that's me wiping the drool from my chin).  I--LOVE--THIS-BLOG.  I can't even remember how I stumbled across The Life and Times of Sticks and Bricks, but I instantly fell in love.  I have to issue this warning though... 

***warning*** you might spend HOURS on this blog.  

On Monday I didn't have to go into work until 1:30 and I literally spent the whole morning going through page after page of beauteemous, fabulous pictures of her work.  Carpenter Ant has a wonderful shop in MA and her blog showcases her incredible pieces.  If you don't have hours to spare to peruse her pages, here are some of my favorites:
