I had so much fun combining work and crafts this week. I am a program representative for a university (my alma mater) and I work with graduate and credential students. A part of my job involves being out in the community and marketing for my school. This week I had a table at a Women Inspiring Women conference so I really wanted to tailor my table to the event. It was a hit! I just love how women notice and appreciate the little things. :) I totally incorporated things I've learned in blogland to create my professional tablescape.
First I printed out the letters APU (Azusa Pacific University) in 72 font and then enlarged it at 300%. Then I taped them to my small foam pumpkins.
Next I outlined the letters hard enough to make an impression on the pumpkins.
Then I cut out the letter with an Exacto knife.
For the A and P, I suspended the middle piece with a toothpick.
I finished off the project by cutting out the bottom and putting a battery operated tea light in.
And here are my little pumpkins on my table.

Very cute pumpkins! Great job carving too, it always looks easier then it actually is. Well, at least for me anyway. :-)
Cute idea!!

Oh! I wouldn't have thought to do that to fake pumpkins. How cool you have them forever to use for other things too! Very nice touch to your table display. The battery operated tea lights are an AWESOME idea.
Thanks for linking up!
