Happy New Year!

Wow.  I'm with the rest of you who can't believe it's 2010.  My dad always told me that once you turn 21 the years go by faster and faster.  Now I'm 36 and it seems that 2009 literally passed by with the blink of an eye.

I had a great time with my family.  They really liked their homemade gifts and I was BLESSED by amazing gifts.  Some things weren't technically "gifts", they were handed down to me, but they are TREASURES to me.  I'm looking forward to sharing them with you in some projects to come.

Here is my sweet grandma with the cell phone holder I made her.  She has Parkinson's disease so it is difficult for her to get to her phone when it is in her pocket or when she has to wheel over to the dresser to answer the phone. Usually we have to call her multiple times so she has time to get to her phone.  Now... she picks it up on the first phone call... Yaaaay!!

The reason why I didn't come home and dive right into creating is because my mom instilled in me at an early age that I could not play with any Christmas gifts until I've written all of my thank you notes. I've carried that routine into my adulthood... thank you cards were finished last night and now I can start "playing" with my new toys and working on some goals/projects!  :o)

Here are a couple of my goals for 2010:
  • Get Organized: In the coming weeks, I will share some before and afters of areas in my home that I'm getting under control.  I'm in some serious need of organization.  I don't know about you, but I get overwhelmed when things are not organized.  I recently went to a training about being organized in the workplace and they said that we can waste between 1 - 3 hours a day if we're disorganized.  Dude... that's SO me.  I waste so much time in my disorganization at home.
  • Open a Store: I will do this either on my site or through Etsy.  My goal is to sell supplies and my creations.
What are some of your goals?
I pray that 2010 will bring you much joy and many blessings!!!

Good Morning Nori... what a sweet thoughtful gift for your Grandma... she looks proud to display it to all of us... glad you had a great holiday and I sure am glad you finished your thank you notes... can't wait to see what is brewing in that creative mind of yours... BTW what a wonderful thing your mother instilled in you... I only wish more parents would take the time to teach their children that simple little gesture... Have a terrific day Nori.

Hugs Deb

I love what you made for your Grandma. Too funny about your thank you notes, I waited to make my new years post until after ours were in the mail too. :) I'm stoked about your soon to be store-you are creating some amazing things. I miss you Bean.
